Should have taken the advice from other reviewers here and not bothered, the process felt like a waste of my time.
After applying for a company director position one evening about a month ago, I was somewhat surprised to have an email in my inbox the very next morning from OK HR asking for my availability for an introductory call.
I specified a time a few days in the future for the phone screen and asked a couple of softball questions, mostly to build the tiniest bit of rapport with the HR person who had emailed with me. I never received any kind of reply to my email nor acknowledgment of the date/time I chose for the call.
A few days later, I was somewhat surprised when the person I had been talking to actually called me to be honest, but we ended up having a very nice conversation and it concluded with her giving me a specific date in which she would speak to the CEO (two days' time.) It was certainly implied that we would be speaking again soon, which was no surprise to me since the call had gone so smoothly and I felt as though I was well qualified for the role.
Well, that was a few weeks ago now. Have I had any further communication with OK? No, of course I haven't. Also, again, no reply to my emails sent since then.
Seems like a common problem here with all levels. I've obviously already taken another job at this point as a company director at one of OK's competitors.
Honestly, if this is how you're [not] communicating with new candidates, I don't even want to imagine what the [lack of] communication is like once one gets a foot in the door...
