      Systems Engineer Interview

      Jul 29, 2017
      Anonymous employee
      Cleveland, OH
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at OnShift (Cleveland, OH) in Jul 2017

      Interview

The whole interview process began with a pleasant, fairly detailed and thorough phone interview / introduction from a very kind and professional internal recruiter. Within a couple hours after the call, I was scheduled for an in-person interview, two days later with the Director of Development who was awesome, followed by the entire SysOps department. The peer review was highly detailed as they were truly vetting me to make sure I knew my field, as such I could tell these guys truly care about the company and the field, technology and tools they use, which gave me enormous faith in this company. This was a challenging interview, but it should be due to the nature of work and type of access / responsibility you are entrusted. I am NEVER this positive, I usually tear things apart but I was so overwhelmingly sold on this organization and the culture it is unreal. They know how to attract talent, treat people and move along the hiring process expeditiously. I am so excited to start the next chapter of my career with these awesome people! I did select difficult but not for any negative reasons, you either have the right personality and skill-set or you don't and they validate that .

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Subject matter specific questions, there's no way to outline all topics discussed as it was a round table and fast paced. My only advice, don't apply if you aren't talented; this is a serious company, serious in the best way.

      Systems Engineer Interview

      Cleveland, OH
      No offer
      Positive experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied through other source. The process took 5 days. I interviewed at OnShift (Cleveland, OH) in May 2015

      Interview

Was about 2 hours in length. First spoke with HR which described the company, asked the more business type questions of introducing myself and background and such. Then spoke with several employees in IT department (I think I counted around 5 mostly 1:1 but a 2:1 with others in same group I'd be working with) which contained more specific questions on what I've listed on resume and to expand on various things. Marked as difficult because you will talk to a lot of different people individually and so will need to answer the same questions multiple times.

      Question 1

Nothing really unexpected. As long as you are really familiar with what you put on your resume and not just tossing keywords on there to sound good you should do fine.
