I applied through a recruiter. The process took 6 weeks. I interviewed at OneSpan
Interview
Recruiter was great, and HR was great. People from east coast flew out to visit, but I never got to meet the local team that I'm being hired to support. That is a red flag.
I applied online. The process took 5 weeks. I interviewed at OneSpan in Oct 2017
Interview
1- initial recruiter call.
2-phone technical interview.
3-phone call with hiring manager.
4-motivation and personality online tests
5- prepare TECHNICAL AND COMMERCIAL presentation.
feedback about step 5 because it might save time for some people.
- I prepared myself with a strong presentation.
-Non of the interviewers was with technical background ; 2 sales and the recruiter.
- I started the presentation and I was stopped many times, eventually I was not able to do the presentation.
- the interview was driven toward sales job not tam.
-Surprisingly, the feedback was I need to ask them as the customer about there problems and needs and then play the sales role.
-Argument was that I might do a sales job if the sales guy is absent......
- technical and commercial presentation is to present the customer with the benefits, TCO,ROI, added value, how does it fit, support, timelines , architecture... etc of what TAM usually do. TAM SHALL build a good relationship with customer but not doing sales job.
the job description was clear. Seems that either the hiring manager does not know the role of TAM or want an all-in-one person.
As I saw previous comments with the same issue "job description does not match what actually you will/should do" I think the hiring process should be corrected from bottom up, not to waste others and their time.
