      Product Owner Interview

      Jun 13, 2022
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Atlanta, GA
      Declined offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at OneTrust (Atlanta, GA) in Apr 2022

      Interview

Although my interview process was a lengthy one (5 different phone calls and zoom meetings) I thoroughly enjoyed everyone I met with in the process. I had one recruiter screening phone call, 3 separate meetings with senior management level employees to discuss technical questions related to the role, and a case study interview with two current PO's. After getting the thumbs up from every employee I met with I was given a verbal offer for the role and promised a written offer within the next few days. I never ended up receiving that written offer and was told by my recruiter that OneTrust was going on an indefinite hiring freeze as they had just brought one a new CFO to restructure the company. I waited about a month as I was told that I would be receiving that written offer "any day" now. It turns out that I dodged a bullet by never receiving that offer from OneTrust as they just recently fired 30% of their company with no heads up. There was a severe lack of communication with upper management and their recruiters during this whole process.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Alot of questions surrounding Product Development and Agile. Questions about previous experience and how they related to this role. Case Study: Was asked to develop a made up product. They wanted to see how I would go about discovering which features would go into the product, how I prioritized them in a product backlog, creating user stories for them, and just in general my ability to organize and use critical thinking skills.

      Application

I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at OneTrust

      Interview

The first step was a phone screen with a recruiter where they went through my background and what the role entails. The second round was a phone interview that had a behavioral component and a mini-case. The last round was onsite and had a case and a behavioral component. I enjoyed going through the process and everyone involved was friendly and supportive. The recruiter (Annie) was very supportive, responsive and kept me in the loop at all stages in the process.

      Interview questions [1]

      Question 1

Product design question that had to be solved on a whiteboard. It was quite engaging and interactive.

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at OneTrust (Atlanta, GA) in Jan 2020

      Interview

I applied and received initial communication from recruiting in about a week. From there, I had a phone screening with recruiting within 3 days and that was followed up by a phone interview with a manager 2 days later. I had an on-site interview the following week and a final screening call a few days after. The screenings were 30 minutes each and basically questions on my background, why I was looking to leave my current company, why I wanted to join OneTrust, etc. The on-site was 2 hours total, split between two groups. The first was a bit of an intro but mostly focused on writing user stories, plans, and priotizing a feature which I was asked to come up with. The second part was mostly around cultural fit . In general, everyone I talked with was professional and friendly. Throughout the process, recruiting was extremely transparent and communicated daily. I was given a great overview of the company, details about the on-site interview process, and feedback from each phase. I was able to ask questions throughout and was given a response within a few hours.
