I have been called for a first phone interview with the recruiter (step 1/6, from my understanding).
The interview has been conducted in French (without being asked) even if the whole exchange had been in English. A couple of question at the end have still been asked in English to test the level.
Apparently the recruiter did not have information about the role (or didn't share it with me), which I did not appreciate, as I felt more screened that involved in a one to one exchange.
On the whole, it seems to me more like a cultural fit than competence-based interview (as indicated in the invitation email).
I tried to contact the recruiter and the hiring manager for a feedback but wasn't able to. I got a response after 3 weeks saying that the position was closed since another candidate had been chosen (while I was still waiting for first interview response).
