I applied through LinkedIn and was immediately contacted by a recruiter. The phone interview felt non-engaging. A perfect example was when I spoke about ideas on how I would improve the work processes, the recruiter just said "uh huh. so onto the next question....". After that, he mentioned the next step is to have a second phone interview with the CFO. I did receive an email and asked for my availability; which I gave. But never heard back even though I emailed twice to make sure they did receive it. As a recruiter at my current role, OpenGov's candidate experience desperately needs help. You cannot get candidates through the door if you fail to get back to them. It makes them feel like you don't care enough to follow up. And why would anyone want to come work for a company like that?!
