I had a phone interview initially which went really well. The person I spoke with was very kind, patient, asked open-ended questions to see if I would be a good fit and align with the company values/mission, and reassured me that if I needed anything I could reach out to their personal cell. (This is where sending a thank you text would have been a nice thing to do FYI). After that I was contacted VIA email to set up the following interview with management which was an easy and quick process. Had the interview with two managers, both were genuine, honest, and had asked about me, my past experience prior to my resume, how I handle a ticket/CS inquiry, what I know about the company, along with general discussion of OpenGov's culture etc. I did sadly get a rejection email, which I replied to asking if we could set up time for some feedback and to go over questions of future opportunities - I was met with an eagerness to do so! Within no time I was able to chat with the lead recruiter who is an amazing individual who obviously cares for what they do and the applicant experience. We had a lovely conversation that resulted in honest, solid feedback, and the ability to put my absolute best foot forward at the next interview wherever it may be! My advice - be yourself, do research the company and it's wonderful mission, back any negative with positive, follow up, ask thought provoking questions! They are down to earth people and there is no reason to be highly nervous.
