I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at OpenGov (Redwood City, CA)
Interview
Standard process - a couple phone screens and then an onsite with 3-4 people. The whole thing moved pretty quick and they were accommodating to my schedule.
Only issue was when I finished my final onsite on a Friday, they said they could get me an offer by early next week. I sent a follow up note the following Thursday to a few people and again the next Wednesday; nearly two weeks after the fact. Heard nothing back. It's fine either way, but they should have given me the courtesy of an update after mutual time and interest investment.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at OpenGov (Portland, OR) in Jan 2021
Interview
One of the best interview experiences I've ever had. Was a very thoughtful and empathetic interview process which is usually not the case with sales and account management interviews. Ben and Jesse from the recruiting team were amazing to work with and the end to end process was highly transparent and well detailed. The recruiting team actively collaborated with me to help me put my best foot forward in the late stage interviews and I was very impressed with this collaborative attitude. Another thing that stood out was how passionate all the team members were in terms of delivering upon the mission of more efficient and accountable government. Although things didn't work out for me in terms of fit, the individuals who interviewed me gave me detailed feedback instead of a generic cold email rejection. I'm cheering for OpenGov from the sidelines and have no doubt that they will execute successfully on the massive govt erm market opportunity while maintaining a strong culture and mission at its core.
