I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at OpenText (Bengaluru) in Mar 2021
Interview
I had a good impression about Opentext until I gave an interview. One of the most pathetic interview processes I have ever gone through. HR reached out to me via LinkedIn on a weekend and asked me to take a test then itself as they had urgent requirements. Such an unprofessional company, don't know why Opentext doesn't train HRs to follow basic etiquettes of the hiring process. I completed an online test(hackerrank) and the next day HR called me and said you haven't completed the test yet. Damn! Did you verify with the vendor before calling me? She called me again for the next round. This time it was a video call interview. Two people were there from the Opentext side. One interviewer asked me a few very basic questions of Python and then he started talking about his technical problem which he was unable to solve from days. He was looking in trouble as he wasn't able to solve his problem. So, I gave him a couple of ways to solve that, I could see him smiling after that.
Another interviewer was probably a manager. He just asked about the tools and techniques I have worked on and they are working on. Next week HR called me and asked me to schedule the next round. This time I got someone from the USA, that guy was in a hurry. I guess he was forced to take this interview. He simply talked about the tools and techniques I have used and they are using and what are their expectations. It was scheduled for an hour but this guy completed the interview(rather I would say talking) in 30 minutes and said he needed to drop for another call. I kept updating HR about my interview and expected the same from her. Anyways, I was waiting for her to let me know the status but I got no response. She stopped replying to my follow up as if I was never interviewed there and as if I am asking her to give me her property.
Being Opentext or other company I never expect this kind of interview experience from a company. I don't know why interviewers forget that they are interviewing on the behalf of their employer and if interview experience is bad then it will defame the company not to the interviewer. This message is to everyone not just to Opentext, please work on the hiring process, train them and watch the process because no one knows how long anyone will be associated with an organisation but organisation will stay forever. So it's very important for an organisation to maintain a faith and good reputation.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Most of the questions were from the resume itself.
3 rounds technical and more on cloud and interview process takes 3 weeks of time to complete and release offer. Took in my case more than 1 and half month which can be improved
The interview process is very straightforward. There are two rounds: a technical interview and a managerial interview. If they find you trustworthy, they will extend an offer. And process will take 1 week to release.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at OpenText (Chennai) in Sep 2021
Interview
Interview was detailed and technical and had a great exposure. Satisfactory interview and good techinal expertise. Right from the beginning had a good technical session and it continued further. Thanks
