I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at Oracle (Kuala Lumpur)
Interview
Someone from China contacted me on LinkedIn, Wechat and WhatsApp about this job opportunity. The entire experience was nothing but scammy. There were several instances that raise brows - needless to say one of them was the lack of professionalism from the recruiters. The questions they asked were low quality, as if they did not even read my LinkedIn profile. I messaged @oraclecareers on Instagram asking for a clarification or an assurance on that recruiter’s identity but did not hear back. I’m not sure if they even care that some organised scam is using their corporate identity. Even if the recruiter was genuine, their lack of professionalism makes me question the quality of hires they’re making, which directly affects the quality of my work life later on (if I get in with them). It’s such a pity because Oracle used to be one of the large MNCs that people in developing countries aim to get into, but their reputation is not holding up, more so when there is an epidemic of job scams in SEA. Wouldn’t recommend this to my friends, but to strangers, proceed with caution.
There are 2 interviewers, one interviewed in English another one in Mandarin. They will give you different scenario and they expect honest opinion and practical answers from you. You can ask any questions and they are quite friendly to answer and tell you the environment of the company.
Unprofessional. Suddenly ask me to do dictation and reading test despite passing their written test. The interviewer wasn't even paying attention and kept asking for things I have already answered. They don't have a clue about what they are asking even.
