I applied online and heard from the hiring manager not too long after the posting closed. The initial phone interview seemed to go well, they asked the usual questions. A few days later the hiring manager contacted me again, this time to schedule a panel interview. This also went well with no surprises for the interview questions. The hiring manager said their choice would need to go through a number of approvals and that I would know their decision in 2-3 weeks. It has now been over 8 weeks and I have heard nothing. I emailed the hiring manager for an update after 6 weeks and received no response. I assume they offered the position to someone else, so I guess in a way their radio silence gives me my answer... but ghosting candidates is a pretty unprofessional way to go about it. At least let candidates know they were not selected.
