I applied online. I interviewed at Oregon State University (Corvallis, OR) in Apr 2013
Interview
Ask you about your experience and transcript. If you I have, they will ask you about your paper. Get prepared before you see a professor and ask for a position, such as a brief introduction and show your ability of a fast learner.
Two rounds
The first round describes simple information about yourself. One month later, the second round asked about professional questions like data management and analysis skills, and type of software. Experience in the past projects is also very important.
I applied in-person. I interviewed at Oregon State University
Interview
Very good! Had interview with hiring manager who was respectful and had relevant questions. Overall had my voice heard and got to ask my questions and they were answered. The room was clean.
There was no interview process, besides speaking with my academic advisor. Perhaps it works differently depending on what department you are in. i am not sure and trying to hit the 30 word minimum
