Completed a video screen with recruiter, I was the only one with the camera on. At the end of the screen I was told that recruiting would arrange a time with the CTO. I received an email a few days later advising that they were excited to move me forward in the interview process which was a meeting with the CTO but “in advance of scheduling that interview” they’d like me to complete a QA challenge. The challenge had a 48 hour deadline but that landed on a holiday so it was preferred I return the assignment the night before. The challenge was to write test cases for verifying functionality of a web form and to teach a komodor with human hands and teeth how to brush its teeth. Despite already traveling for the upcoming holiday I completed the assignment and sent my work in. It got stuck in my outbox which I noticed right as the 48 hour mark hit so I rectified that. My response was acknowledged and I was told they would get back to me. That was 3 weeks ago and I’ve heard nothing since. I felt insulted that I put as much attention to detail and effort in as I did only to be ghosted.
