They have a 5 step hiring process and I failed on the 3rd :)
First of all you need to fill up an application form (which is pretty long, might take up to an hour of your time) and attach resume (they didn’t ask a cover letter for this position). Questions are interesting and won’t let you get bored.
Next step is a Project, in my case the assignment was to plan out a retreat trip for 75 people including budget estimate. I really liked the project and spent around 5 hours on it.
If they like your project they will schedule a phone interview. It's pretty typical everywhere. The manager was nice and professional. During the process of the phone interview I asked how many applications they had gotten during 10 days they had this position open on their website - and the hiring manager answered "around 300". So, competition is tough, and I guess it's not a surprise for anyone, because OwnLocal is a great place to work.
I got a message 3 days after the phone interview with typical "we are going to go ahead without you" and warm regards.
So, I didn't get a job, but I still have good feeling about the company and probably will apply again when they have a position for me.
