PBS Content Management Specialist Contractor interview questions

This is for the Content Management Specialist position at the main headquarters. This is a contractor position lasting up to six months with a possibility of extension provided that funding was available. I submitted my resume online through the company's website Two weeks after I had applied, the company emailed me wanting to set up a telephone interview with me. Days later, I had an interview with the company that told me about the contracted position. The company said not many people in the United States of America are watching the company's local public television affiliates. The company also "claimed" that they tried to get a job at the company's main headquarters and the doors of opportunity were not opened for them and that they later took on a contractor position in their career. This position is outsourced through a staffing firm (temp agency). This means that the company strictly uses a temporary staffing agency for its contractor positions seen on the company website. The person at the company told me their story about how the company changed their life and may have been pretending to be "sympathetic" when discussing their own experiences in journalism and their sob story about trying to find a job in journalism and their experience trying to find work with the company. No word on whether their life experience is genuinely true or not. Or, simply the company was pretending to "feel sorry" for a job candidate whose employment background is in television journalism. Seen below is an excerpt of information about the position in question: "Note: Full-time, Contractor, funded through June 2020 with the possibility of extension. Note: The individual selected for this role will not be employed directly by the company. The incumbent will be hired by a staffing firm as a contractor under the instruction of the company. The position works independently within the specific team to provide superior content management support to the company staff, and staff at company Member Stations. They facilitate information dissemination across the public television system through various knowledge management tools that aid the company and Member Station staff." After the telephone interview with the company (the company wondered if I had experience with content management, which I didn't and I told the company that I would be willing to learn content management), I followed up with the company by both telephone and by email, and I heard nothing back. Then, on the afternoon of December 16, 2019, I received an automated email message from the company with the following statement: "Thank you for your interest in the [name of job position] contractor opening. We have had a chance to review your resume and compare it against other people who have expressed an interest in this position as well. Unfortunately, we have decided to pursue other candidates who appear to match (skills and experience) our requirements more closely at this time. " The company genuinely did not want to hire me at all. This is indeed a closed-door as it is not part of my path in life! Here is a Word of Wisdom and Advice: Job seekers and job candidates, please try local smaller-market local public television station affiliates in the United States. You will have a better opportunity to find and successfully obtain employment (a job) at a local smaller public television member station affiliates. The main company headquarters and larger-market public television member stations are not worth your time and are not worth my time. Try small-market public television affiliate stations. Thank you.
