I applied online. The process took 1+ week. I interviewed at PSA Airlines (Charlotte, NC) in Jul 2018
Interview
I applied on the company site. About two days later I received an invitation to complete an online personality assessment and answer some situational questions. That went directly into a video interview portion which was *not* mentioned anywhere in any of the emails or webpages encountered prior. Thankfully I was able to wait before starting and prepare myself for the interview. About two days after completing the online portion I received an invitation to an in person interview in Charlotte. They flew me from my hometown airport the morning of and back home that evening. The in-person interview consisted of an information session where they employ some odd tactics to try to weed out a few candidates based on the low pay, tough working conditions, etc. After that, they have a break and then they have each candidate come up and introduce themselves, and read a part of a cabin announcement. Following that, they break for lunch and then call candidates in one at a time for one-on-one interviews. It’s odd because they have all of these occurring at the same time in a small room at small tables, so you can overhear other people answering questions while you’re trying to focus on your interview. Some of the questions seemed really irrelevant, but for the most part the recruiters were kind and seemed to be interested in your answers. I’m not sure what they are looking for however, as they hired some people who didn’t seem to have qualifications and then passed on others who did. Perhaps they only hire those who won’t ask for a raise based on their qualifications. Either way, I’m thankful for the experience of the interview but parts of this company seem a little shady (high turnover, low wages, inexperienced staff doing the hiring - one recruiter worked at the airline less than 6 months and was already leading recruiting for FAs)... not sure if I would do it again but it gave me insight for my other interviews with airlines I have coming up!
