Everything everyone else has posted regarding the interview PROCESS is accurate. In my case, first 100 were in and you watch a video and they clearly present the realities of the job. Get there early, they were turning people away 30 minutes after the door opened. I would disagree with others who have stated the realities of the job were presented in a negative way, I found it to be very helpful and I really appreciated the attitudes of the flight attendants and HR, and their willngness to be REAL about what you are getting into. I enjoyed that part of the presentation. They state very clearly do not expect more than $15,854 your first year. If you are not into a flexible schedule, don't apply. They went over things people should already know if they are applying for a FA job. It was very serious but well-presented, and even some moments that had everyone laughing. There was a short break and then you line up by number, and in groups get up in front of a panel of about 6 HR/Flight attendants. You state your name, they ask you a question, and then you are asked to read a short portion of the safety speech or intro speech of a FA. This has gotta be solely to see your verbal/communicaiton skills, and your dress/the way you present yourself. Basically you are being evaluated on your first impression - so make it a good one. Your resume is not even looked at until first cuts are made. After this, was a break, and upon return they divide you into 2 groups. Few are chosen, so if they call you into a small room with fewer people, thats good - you made first cut. I made this cut. You then go to a different room where you show your required documents as others begin the one-on-one interviews. As it is your turn to turn in documents, they do ask if you have tattoos. I have one on my wrist, but did not think it was a problem since in the intro/video/realistic part of the interview at the beginning of the day stated that tattoos just needed to be covered by the uniform. Uniforms are long sleeved, and regardless, my tattoo is easily covered by my watch. I was honest in saying I have a tattoo, and when asked to show it, I pulled up my sleeve (but it could not be seen because of my watch). I was then asked to remove my watch so they could see, and was told it disqualified me from the job. It did not matter that it was not visible, even with the watch, even with the long-sleeved uniform. So do not apply or go to the interview if you have a tattoo and you plan on being honest. Its very unfortunate because after making first cut (they kept about 28 out of 100 to go to the 1/1 interview), there were several around me who were unexperienced, poor hygene, young and a bit immature,...one of the guys beside me did not even have 2 of the 4 required documents with him...not very responsible and not the type I would want saving my life if there was an airplane emergency. lol I'm sure those people didn't get an offer in the end (I hope.) However, regardless of my language skills and customer service experience, I did not even get the chance to shine in the 1/1 interview, simply because of a non-visible tattoo. Everything happens for a reason! Maybe God knew I wouldnt be able to survive on that starter salary (you sign a non-negotiable agreement for pay of $15,854), but I do hate that I made it only half-way through the process, and would have been a great fit for the job. Many have stated they only keep skinny or good looking people - that simply is not true. There were people who made first cut from ages probably 21 to I would guess 55. Plenty that were not attractive or super skinny. DRESS PROFESSIONALLY. People showed up in ripped jeans or just black pants and a sweater. ITS BUSINESS PROFESSIONAL DRESS. If you are unsure of what that is, google it. Be smart, fix your hair, be ON TIME. You're applying for a professional job, so take it seriously - don't waste your own time or theirs by being slack.
