The initial interview consisted of an hour long discussion with about 5-6 team members. The hiring manager stated at the end of that interview that they were on a accelerated schedule to fill this position, which would require a cross-country relocation on my part, and after the initial interview, there would be a request for references and a follow up interview for candidates continuing through the process. A couple of hours later, I was asked to provide references. And then crickets.... My references told me they reached out and I never heard anything back. After a month, I reached out with no response for two weeks, and then she finally responded that they have filled the position. Completely unprofessional behavior from the hiring manager for a position that I was head-hunted for in the first place. Glad I dodged that bullet.
