I applied online. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at PagerDuty in Jan 2019
Interview
I was reached out for a conversation with PagerDuty's recruiting staff, mostly asked behavioral questions alongside with the reasons for wanting to join the company. Afterwards, I was set up with two phone technical calls where I had to program a simple todo application using any language of my choice and conversation with the hiring manager.
After passing these two calls, I was invited on-site for a full day of interviews where lunch was provided. During the on-site, I was asked to write code for a potential real world scenario of which one included using the PagerDuty api. Afterwards, one of the interviews included what they refer to as data modeling, which from what I understand is a mix of system design with emphasis on db schemas although I couldn't get a general direction from my questions. Another interview consisted of speaking with the hiring manager and seeing if you were a good fit.
After all of this, despite my results I never heard back from PagerDuty. Not sure how busy they are but even a simple rejection would have been preferred to all communication ceasing. Up until this point, the recruiters have been quite nice on their follow ups so I'm sure it is something that can be fixed easily.

Question 1
How would you write an interactive app that will return all users associated with an account and their respective forms of communication using their api?
Initial hr call, a hiring manager call and then two technicals, a lot of behavioral questions . Unironically had a great time interviewing, which cannot be said for most companies these days.
I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at PagerDuty in Oct 2025
Interview
Really quick and easy process. Started with a recruiter screen,, then had a 30 minute call with the hiring manager, then two hour-long technical interviews (live coding challenge (not LeetCode) and system design), and finally a 30-minute call with the senior manager over the whole team. Recruiter reached back out within a day of each interview to schedule the next step. Overall, the whole process took roughly three weeks and was really smooth and enjoyable the whole time.
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at PagerDuty (Toronto, ON) in Nov 2024
Interview
Found the interview questions to be a typical experience, however my interviewer joined the interview noticably annoyed. They were quite unfriendly during the process and eager to end the interview. I knew within 5 minutes there would be no callback - there was not.
