Recruiter reached out and asked me to come interview. When you are a prospect in the pipeline they are super friendly and enthusiastic but once you dont make it they usually ghost you. I had a recruiter screen then a coding and decomp interview. Coding question is really simple and decomp is just a high level system. After that I took the virtual onsite which was a decomp again and then a lesrning interview. The learning interview was a little surprising because they told me I dont need to prep. I do more Ai work and system architecture but there was an expectation to know specific sql queries which I havent done for a while so I was not able to past this round since it was basically doing sql queries without actually being able to run the code anywhere. I thought it was unfair because my actual system design and coding were very good but they ghosted me . It was unprofessional because I didnt apply and they reached out to me and then randomly never responded again.
Applied on their website and then received an email from a recruiter to schedule a phone screening. I expected to be interviewed by the recruiter (the person who sent me the email) but instead was called by one of their engineers.
