The discussion with the recruiter was brilliant, very informative , friendly , open and as expected. Interview was set up as a first interview , this was described as more informal , information about myself , CV and talk through the role. This was not the case.
The interview was intense with no real introduction from the hiring manager about themselves, the role they do or any additional information about them. It was straight into competency questions without asking anything about myself , who i was or any additional details.
Although i answered the questions , this was not the interview i prepped for or the culture i would want to join into , therefore felt under prepared for the full formal interview and also uncomfortable . This is also not a great example of helping people be at their best in interviews.
I decided to ultimately withdraw from the process. If this is the culture and feeling in interview i would not want to be joining this company.
As a hiring manager myself over the last 20 years , i would be first spending time introducing myself fully as well as asking about the person .Ultimately you are employing for more than a role you employing a individual.
It was a disappointing experience and one i would not wish to repeat .
I explained my experience to the recruiter and she apologized. It was also not the interview she set out so no blame on this part.
