The process was probably a little longer than necessary (4 different meetings), but overall it was still quick.
Spoke to the Engineering manager first, and then the Product manager. I think they normally combine this step, but both weren’t available at the times I was.
Next I spoke with 3 “regular” employees in a panel (product owner, technical team lead, QA), but the meeting was only 30 minutes long. It was hard for all of us to get through all the meaningful questions in that short amount of time. I had also done a small project they had given me to create a test plan for an already released thing, but it was never referenced in this interview (or the next step).
Finally, spoke to the founder and current CEO for an hour. They were enjoyable folks and answered the startup money questions I had.
All of this happened in less than a week, and I received a verbal offer the night that I spoke with founder and CEO.
The offer was a good one, but I had already told them I wasn’t 100% on leaving my company and would have to think about it. My company countered to keep me making the money basically the same, and PS’s low PTO/sick leave offerings were a big factor in my decision to turn them down.
