Applied through LinkedIn, the process took three weeks from the first call to the rejection call.
The first call was with HR to determine if I could be a match. Nice lady.
The second call was with the VP of Marketing. She was great! She was very cordial, professional, and kind.
The third call was with a panel. It was completely disastrous. Zero compatibility because it was an interrogation. The demand-gen guy was insufferable and had a huge ego. For a moment, I thought he was the boss. The two other ladies were okay, but some of their questions were difficult to understand, it was a word soup that left me asking for an explanation. I knew I was not going to be offered the role based on this interview. I'm glad because that is not the culture I want to be part of.
In marketing, sales is what matters. How are you overcoming objections and shortening the sales cycles with the current clients? That's their struggle, and they're still trying to figure it out.
