I applied through college or university. I interviewed at Paycom
Interview
I applied through HandShake in the mid of September. I got the HakerRank assessment which had very basic questions like syntax errors, given a piece of code what will be the output of it etc.
After 2 weeks my first round of interview was scheduled. It was a 30 min interview. They asked few behavioral questions and 1 technical question. They asked me about my projects which were on my resume.( Be through with what is on your resume).
After that I was scheduled another interview which was similar to the previous one and then I also got a call from the college technical recruiter which I believe was a telephonic interview.
Before the final round they sent goodies as every year they host a tech night which is like a hackathon and this year they could not conduct it because of the pandemic.
Overall I can say that the interview process was very good and the recruiters were very friendly
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Technical Interview Questions:
1) Difference between interfaces and Abstract classes
2) Http Get and POST requests
3) What happens when you click on a website ( Explain the client server working on the web (DNS))
4) Dependency Injection, Inversion Control -> I have mentioned in my resume.
Coding Questions:
1) Remove duplicate characters from a string
2) Find Common characters of 2 strings
Behavioral Questions:
1) Why did you choose Software Engineering
2)What kind of projects you would like to work on
3) Talk about the most challenging project you worked on and what difficulties did you face ( Talk about what technical issue you faced and how did you overcome it).
4) Why do you want to join Paycom. (Read about the company and show that your interests are closing align to what they work on).
Everything was fine. But during the tech part of the interview, I noticed the interviewer was very talkative. So I asked ahead of time if I could have 2 minutes to read and process the question before he offered any guidance. He only gave me about 20 seconds and kept interrupting my train of thought. It felt like a boss was standing over my shoulder talking the whole time. I got turned off by that. I let the time run out and ended the interview. Personally, would not apply again but others might not have the same experience.

Interview questions [1]
Question 1
Given an array of items return item with highest frequency. If there is a tie, return by highest alphabet value
It was okay. In my case, the interviewer did not seem friendly at all and was hardly interacting. Even though I explained my entire thought process, he seemed to be distracted by other things lol.
