I applied in-person. The process took 4 weeks. I interviewed at Payless ShoeSource (Elizabeth, NJ)
Interview
I was interviewed by two managers one was a store manager the other was a manager in training. The managers were very friendly yet serious asking very specific questions about previous leadership skills and experiences with both customers and employees. I then had to participate is roll playing where I was the employee and the managers were the customers (never did that before so I was a little nervous ) . Interview was wrapped up and I was told if I didn't hear from them in one week assume they went with someone else. However I received a call one month later asking if I was still available because they wanted me to go to a second interview. I went and it went well. After my references checked out I was made an offer followed by taking a drug test. I then was told I would start the following Mon. Mon I report to work only to find out I couldn't start because my employee ID number hadn't come down yet. So as of now it's a week since taking the drug test and still no employee ID number. It's a bit frustrating because I'm ready to start working. Now I just wait....

Interview
Interview process was very easy. Applied online and within a couple days i got called for an interview with a multi store manager. He asked simple interview questions and questions on how i would manage a team. We did a role play and that interview was over. He called me the same day saying that the store manager from the store i applied needs to interview me so i went to that interview 3 days later. He asked the same type of questions like in the previous interview. Did not make me role play again and then told me i got the job he just wanted to confirm with the District Manager that it was okay.
