Applied online, and got a call from the manager a day later - I never got a reply back so fast! We scheduled the interview for 2 days later. On the Friday of my interview, I was still dealing with some after-effects of severe heartburn, and my face is naturally pretty red. So, the first thing he hints/questions about is why I looked the way I did and if I was ok. I explained the heartburn and said I was perfectly fine. I was a teeny bit off-put by this, as I'm not sure if interviewers are supposed to comment on our looks, even if they are concerned? Next he had me read a description of the job and the responsibilities, and I had to make a mark to anything that I would not be able to do. No problem, could do everything. Then, he asked if I had any questions about that. I only asked about how much lifting is done in a typical day. After that he opened it up for general job-related questions. After I asked my usual few, he had me pretend to sell him a pair of shoes, as if he was a customer: greeting him, engaging in conversation, asking for preferences, making a connection with the customer, etcetc. I have no previous sales experience so I did the best I could.
