Phone Screen, a Group Video Call, 1 one-on-one video call, and 4h onsite interview + lunch. I sent some work samples, to which there was a follow up interview. There a design challenge, followed by a presentation to 6 team member. Process took about 5mo, partially due to my constraints of school at the time. During the 5 months, I really enjoyed the interaction with my primary contact (head of engineering). I also had the chance to meet team, all who were wonderful and enthusiastic about their work. Their HR and product team made the process extremely smooth which was nice considering it was longer than average. Ultimately, I decided to walk away due to the last few interactions I had with the head of the TrainHeroic which made me feel uncomfortable moving forward with them. In short, some of his comments came off gendered and unaware...I feel that's a part of the reason why there's a lack of diversity on the team, both in terms of people of color and women.
