      Front End Engineer Interview

      Nov 29, 2019
      Anonymous employee
      San Francisco, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Peek (San Francisco, CA) in Oct 2019

      Interview

The process was straightforward and enjoyable for me. The people I spoke with were very personable and kind. It began with an HR person reaching out to me to see if there might be a mutual interest in the role and industry. Through this call, I got a high-level overview of the company and role. After this initial screen, I received a call from one of the senior engineers for a technical screen. The screen covered various JS specific concepts. The next step was to complete either a take home open-ended assignment or an online assessment. I was encouraged to choose whichever I felt would demonstrate my skills best. I chose the take home and enjoyed the creative liberty that came with the assignment. Finally, I was invited to an on-site. This step was my personal favorite. Everyone was very kind and personable. The conversations were more than just "what can you do"; they were also "how do you operate?", "what do you like to do outside of work?", etc. It made me feel like more than a resource; like a person. I received an offer later that week and you better believe I accepted the offer. 10/10 would do again :)
