The interview process was fairly straightforward. I was interviewed by the manager of the IS team, and he seemed like a nice guy. The first phone call screen took 30-45 minutes, and it was mostly going over my resume as well as talking about some of the basic interview questions people are always asked (why this role, why this company, what excites you, etc). After the initial phone call, the manager wanted to have me give him a 10-15 minute demonstration on a website or application of my choice through google hangouts, while also going through a "comprehensive background check", which delved very far into my past almost unnecessarily. He asked me questions going back to high school, did I take AP course, extracurriculars, why did I/didn't I, did you volunteer, tell me about college, what extra did you do there, tell me about the proudest moment of your life..... at no point did I think these questions were applicable at all to the role of Integration Specialist, but I went along with it and we had a nice conversation. After that, he said the process would be to go into the office for an onsite interview with him, as well as other higher-ups including the CEO and to include 2-3 referrals from previous work managers. He said he would tell me within one week regarding more. This is when the experience turned negative because I really felt like I connected, had good interviews and did a good demonstration, but after a week I never heard back from the manager. Even when I emailed him and called after the week was up, I still had no response which was really annoying and frustrating. I understand rejection, that part is fine... but it was definitely deflating to not even get a response, especially when I made an effort to contact them.
