Everyone was kind, and the recruiter was clear about the next steps/communication throughout. The team was also willing to answer all questions. The process started with a phone screen then had three additional interviews with other team members.
I applied online. The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Penguin Random House (New York, NY) in Jul 2018
Interview
Initial phone screen followed by 1:1 meeting. The people were nice but their process stinks. The hiring manager said she wanted/needed to move fast. After I reached out to the recruiter for feedback she said they would like to consider me but were waiting for other candidates interviews to finish. Each time I reached out I got an apology from the recruiter for not having a definite timeline. After following up once a week for the next 3-4 weeks I gave up. More than a month later I got a call from the recruiter to let me know someone else had been hired. The same week I saw on LinkedIn the new person had started. If they weren’t interested why didn’t they let me know weeks earlier?! Typical big brand names treating candidates poorly.
