I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at People Tech Group (Redmond, WA) in Sep 2021
Interview
Recruiter called me and told me to fill out a HackerRank assessment.
Passed the assessment, the recruiter called me to tell me to fill out a form for HR, which opened with “I, <blank> residing at <blank> with SSN: <blank>”.
Recruiter called me 4 times after I did not immediately complete the form. Called me again the next day, I asked why they need my SSN on the document if I won’t be getting paid for the 6 week training. They asked for my last 4 of my SSN instead. I said no deal unless I’m submitting my SSN through a secure HR portal. Recruiter tries to get my SSN over the phone again so I say “this isn’t going to work, sorry” and hang up.
Recruiter calls again 3 times and I said, “Let me be clear, this is not going to work, do not call me again” 3 times.
Recruiter calls me again so I blocked the number.
Whole thing felt like a scam.
