I was previously employed with another retail pet groomer. After a series of accidental incidents on the job, I was told by management that they would not be able to transfer me to a new store for my move to TX from MD. I was given the option to stay, but declined, as I already signed a lease on a new apartment. I decided to switch to Petco, and applied for a store close to the new apartment. The store which I applied to did not have any openings, but I was contacted by another store manager that was looking for new talent. I arranged to interview with him a few days after arriving in TX, and sat with he and the Salon Manager. They asked about my experience, and why I left the company. I explained that I was looking for a lower-stress environment and more supportive management. My fiance and I were looking to start a life together in TX, and so the offer to stay in MD was not attractive. I informed the Salon Manager of my specialties and ability to groom multiple breeds. She gave me her expectations (high quality grooms, timeliness to shifts, customer service, etc.) and asked if I could meet them. I said I could. I was offered a job on the spot as long as the background check went through nicely, and given a tour of the salon.
