      Partnerships Lead Interview

      Jul 5, 2019
      Anonymous employee
      San Francisco, CA
      Accepted offer
      Positive experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at PicnicAI (San Francisco, CA) in May 2019

      Interview

The interview process was standard: application, phone screen, hiring manager interview, project, onsite full day interview with a team lunch and presentation. The PicnicHealth team is very welcoming, busy, and diverse. I read in another review that the project is considered "free work" but my project was a real world application of the skills needed for the role. One of the things I appreciated most about my interview process was the project because it helped me understand if I would be happy doing the work Picnic needed and allowed Picnic to see if my capacity was right for the role. I also enjoyed the team lunch because it gave me a view into Picnic's culture while also softening me personally as a candidate. I felt through out the process all aspects of professional life, including office interactions, were weighted with an obvious emphasis on my project as potential work output. Their recruiter was phenomenal. She was intelligent, direct, and reasonable--could not of had a better experience.

Thanks for taking the time to review our interview process. I am glad that your experience was so positive. We put a lot of time into creating an intentional process that looks to showcase candidates' skills in a way that simulates "doing the work" together as best as possible. We also make sure to differentiate the projects we ask candidates to complete based on the role itself. In your case, the project was directly related to the role you would be hired to play. In other cases, such as engineers, the project prompts are not related to PicnicHealth work at all, because that would compromise very serious security and privacy commitments we have with patients (Personal Health Information). So glad you had such a great experience and joined the team! We're really lucky to have you!
