First had a telephone interview with the recruiter, it went really well. He was really nice and informative and I felt that we connected. He set me up to meet with the HM about a week or so later, which again went really well. The HM informed me that they had additional candidates but he really liked me and he would be moving me on to the second round. He also replied to my thank-you email, which I thought was very thoughtful. Then radio silence. I emailed the recruiter, letting him know that the HM had mentioned he wanted to move me forward, but didn't hear anything back. I think it was two weeks later when I got an automated message from their HRIS to schedule the next interview. I did, and it went relatively well. She mentioned that they had talked about me as I had applied to previous roles and she was excited to meet with me. She told me I would hear about if I was moving on to next steps in about a week. Weeks went by. I emailed the recruiter. He told me they would have a decision by the end of the week. Then, more radio silence. Again, for WEEKS. I followed up but no response. Then, I get an automated rejection from the system. I respect their decision, but I do not appreciate how this was handled. The messaging from the interviews and the recruiter's response didn't add up and as I had invested time and met with the team, an automated message weeks after the recruiter personally said that they would get back to me feels disrespectful of my time and candidacy. Please treat people with more respect. I have worked in TA for the past 5 years, I get it. But I think that after three interviews, weeks of waiting and following up, an automated rejection is not appropriate.
