      Research Associate Interview

      Apr 7, 2020
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Average interview

      Application

I applied through a staffing agency. The process took 2 days. I interviewed at Pivot Bio in Apr 2020

      Interview

I applied through a staffing company and I had a phone interview within 2 business days. I was very energetic and thorough with my answers that pertained to my past research experience. The hiring manager wasn't as enthusiastic and it felt like an interrogation on the specifics of procedures that I've used. It felt like the hiring manager was looking for keywords. I had to lead the conversation and the interviewer would interrupt to ask questions on "why this/why not that." This phone interview wasn't as traditional in terms of mannerism and questions asked that usually give a sense of direction to the conversation. Regardless, I do think that Pivot Bio seems like a great place to work. A note for Pivot Bio: please keep in mind that while your team is trying to figure out if you want to hire the candidate, you have to make sure to make a good impression so the candidate will choose you if extended an offer as well. Good luck to future candidates, and know every detail on and not on your resume. I researched this company's mission, current projects, and impact but was asked none of that.

      Interview

The company is not at all cooperating in terms of candidates times. Very disrespectful and they decide not to consider candidates who have difficult timings to work with. They do not like schedule flexibility with candidates which shows that how rude it is.
