I thought the online video interview went very well with the hiring manager. The recruiter conveyed they were not moving ahead. The feedback received was a bit inconsistent to how I know my colleagues see me. The recruiter said that the hiring manager found me somewhat soft in my nature. He wanted someone assertive as the existing product practices need to be disciplined in the team. Even my past colleagues expressed a surprise at this feedback. Too bad that I missed the opportunity for this minor misunderstanding. Candidates shall be given an opportunity to defend in such cases.
