I applied through a recruiter. The process took 3 days. I interviewed at Planview in Oct 2021
Interview
My third interview was with a non management team member. Although my first 2 interviews were VERY positive, the third was perhaps the worst professional encounter of my 30 year career by far!
From the onset, it was clear that for some reason this person did not want me to get the job. He asked me 'gotcha' types of questions in hope that I would provide a answer that disqualified me. He did not ask me one single question about my background or qualifications, rather it was 'quiz time'. He became clearly angry and accused me of not preparing or even checking out their website (which was TOTALLY not true, I spent a great deal of time preparing for the interview as I always do). Turning the webcam onto my desktop computer to show him my browser opened to their web demo page didn't seem to bother him at all and he continued his rant.
After a half hour of this despite remaining polite and professional, he told me with invective and emphasis: "I refuse to endorse you for this role' and abruptly ended the meeting. I have no idea whatsoever what prompted this whatsoever, I had never seen anything quite like this in my life, professionally or personally.
Meanwhile, I contacted the recruiter via email and phone. Only the next day did she respond by canceling the follow up meeting I had with the hiring manager (after I logged onto the meeting and was waiting for someone to join). She promised to call me ostensibly to discuss the interview and even gave me a specific time but never did.
If this company condones this type of behavior, I wonder what it is like to actually work for them!
I'm terribly sorry to hear you had this experience, please contact me so we can discuss and so I can understand this situation further. mcrann@planview.com (VP, HR North America)
Other Account Executive Interview Reviews for Planview
Ten days without any communication from HR or the manager, despite my follow-ups. This silence gives a bad impression and creates a negative experience.
It's not complicated to communicate and let people know what's going on. Do you do the same with your prospects or customers? Just out of respect for the work done.
A negative email received on a Saturday morning, written by AI, surely it's important to them... In a profession where human relations are paramount, go back to basics.
Thank you.
Thank you for sharing your feedback. We sincerely apologize for the lack of communication during your interview process. You're absolutely right - timely, respectful communication should be a given, regardless of the outcome, and we fell short of that standard.
We're reviewing our communication practices to ensure this doesn't happen to future candidates. Thank you for sharing your experience.
