I applied on their website. It took 30-40 minutes to complete, as there were questions on there that required some thought and time. The next day I received a call from HR that they wanted to set up an interview at their corporate office with their training coordinator for new managers. I have over 20 years experience in the industry with over a decade in management. I was feeling very comfortable and confident going into the interview, as I was very prepared and did a lot of research on the company. However, after only 5 minutes or so, the lady was done asking questions, and asked if I had any? She only discussed the management structure of the restaurants, and asked 5 or so general questions (mostly close-ended). At no point were my previous jobs discussed or the experiences I had in those positions. I was prepared to answer questions on customer service, customer complaints and employee based questions. I was asked none of those. I went on to ask 4 or 5 of my own questions (which she answered very quickly). There was no flow to the interview, as I felt I was the one conducting the interview. It was so odd, that I lost my train of thought and told her I had no more questions to ask. I was out the door in 15 minutes or less, and knew I was not getting another interview most likely. I was very disappointed, as I prepared very hard and thought I would be a good fit for the company based on my experience. At no point in the interview did i feel that I was able to sell myself and qualifications in the interview. Definitely an odd experience to say the least.
