The interviewer is not very familiar with what the position should do in the company, thus didn't know what kind of person they are looking for or what questions should be asked. The whole interview was following the standard procedure of software engineers, which was off-topic for machine learning researchers. The company is not putting much focus on machine learning -- they don't even have a machine learning team. Each team does a little bit of machine learning applications, that's it. Not recommended if you are applying for a machine learning-related position in this company -- they don't have it.
