The process took 3 months. I interviewed at Post Office (London, England)
Interview
(12 graduates in attendance)
(3 positions available)
This was operated through the graduate recruitment bureau (GRB).
1. Applied online
2. Recorded video interview (60 seconds to answer 3/4 questions)
3. Invited for 1-1 with a GRB recruitment specialist (Competency questions
4. Invited to Assessment day.
Assessment day-
Team introduced themselves and the post office. (History and Services)
Task 1. Was asked to research a part of the business and prepare to create a 60 second presentation with another candidate.
Task 2, 1st Group task. Survival scenario were we had to come to agreement as a team, and present to the panel our decisions. (Purpose- to see how you work as a team)
Lunch- Provided by the team, Had the chance to speak with previous graduates, (this was very underwhelming they didn't really provide any insight on the journey, were very vague about the experience)
Task 3- 2nd Group task. This was to test our commercial awareness. The task was to competitively launch their new insurance package (made up scenario)
Task 3- Interview with 2 Post Office members. - More competency and commercial based questions.
- Whilst they were friendly they never asked any questions to better understand me as a candidate it was very structured that I felt their wasn't enough opportunity to highlight my skills, passion or suitability.
Overall-
- Very positive experience, the team were friendly, the office was very nice.
-Whilst I didn't receive an offer it was very disheartening that the feedback was incredibly vague, considering I spent a whole day at the office i was hoping for some constructive feedback that would help give me points of improvement, but that was not the case, that would be my biggest con.
- Something that I did observe (as well as a few other candidates) it didn't come across as a diverse team (they showed us various pictures of their team and it was very overwhelmingly 'uniform')
