HR Interview
Everything went well. I appreciate the professional approach.
Technical Interview
The technical interview was quite an unusual experience, unlike anything I’ve seen in a long time. They assigned a task that was excessively long—not designed to efficiently assess a candidate’s knowledge in a reasonable timeframe, but rather requiring significant time investment to complete, without compensation. And this was for a Senior Designer position.
The assignment itself felt as though it was generated without a deep understanding of the role, raising concerns about whether the hiring manager truly had expertise in the field. While not necessarily difficult, it required at least 30 hours of work. This approach seemed to take advantage of the current job market, expecting candidates seeking full-time employment to invest excessive time upfront.
After 20 days, they reached out to schedule a follow-up interview regarding the completed task. During this call, the hiring manager briefly outlined the structure of the presentation and requested that the session be recorded. I then spent 45 minutes presenting my work, during which the hiring manager did not ask a single question—his primary focus appeared to be recording the session. In retrospect, I could have simply sent them a recording without the need for a meeting.
Later, they responded, stating that my work did not meet their expectations.
Unfortunately, their handling of candidates and time management left much to be desired. I would advise others to carefully consider whether this process aligns with their expectations before engaging further.
