I was interviewed by the manger of the shop as well as her supervisor, and one of the associates who already worked there that I'd be working with. They were very nice and their dispositions put me at ease during my interview. They asked me the normal questions when interviewing for a customer service position, like how to deal with an unhappy customer and what to do if you suspect someone is stealing. They also need you to be able to set up shop displays and do inventory, as well as lift boxes of merchandise and stand on a ladder to clean. It requires more physical labor than one would think. They seemed very selective about picking the right candidate for this position, which is great because you are dealing directly with patients and their loved ones- sometimes at difficult times in their lives. They also wanted to make sure my personality would mesh with the other women who already worked there (I worked with 2 other associates at the time) Make sure you have an empathetic personality and also respect privacy laws to protect patients. Also need an eye for displaying things and a creative side. I really enjoyed the interview process as well as my time working in this position and the people I worked for. It is a wonderful job, I wish I could have stayed but it is only part-time. Perfect for someone who is looking for a few hours a day working with people and being creative!! I met some wonderful people, including my supervisors and coworkers, through this job.
