A very quick and simple interview process. A recruiter called me for a phone interview; we met in person for an interview soon after. It sounded like I would be meeting with the client team, so I was disappointed to only be meeting with the staffing agency. The interviewer was unprepared and disorganized; they left me waiting in the room and even booked another client during the SAME INTERVIEW WINDOW. The interview questions were THE most basic you can encounter: "What's your greatest weakness?", "Describe a problem you solved", etc. It was not stressful, but it made me feel like the only competent person in the building. My interviewer stumbled at a few questions, especially questions around DEI, which is never good. The pay for the position was clear within this first step, but it was unclear whether PrideStaff took a cut or not; either way, the listed was almost half of what I need from a position right now. I had to complete the onboarding before my interview process could continue. This included a mouth-swab drug test and a bunch of agreement forms. It is not a good agreement for the employee; if you sign everything, which you literally have to in order to even be considered, you are basically at the whim of PrideStaff as an employer, including around health accommodations and existing workers' rights. PrideStaff and the client will basically own any outcomes of your work through their confidentiality clause, and if any issues arise, IP or around your basic rights, you cannot even settle those issues in court. Speaking of healthcare, coverage here is horrible. You have to hit a deduction before even your doctor appointments are covered. They have a decent 401k match and an hours-worked PTO system, but neither of those kick in until you've worked there for awhile (a year for 401k, about a month and a half for PTO). After all this, I figured if I did take the job, I would not be sticking around that long. The client team seemed obsessive and micromanaging before even becoming my manager, confirming this expectation. The real cherry on top: though I am clearly a man, the office manager kept referring to me as "she" and "her". That, out of anything, confirmed my decision. Really topped things off, summarized the quiet disrespect and disorganization of the whole situation. Though PrideStaff's name is a coincidence, that's a pretty ironic mistake to make lol.
