      Product Manager Interview

      Jun 20, 2018
      Anonymous Interview Candidate
      Carpinteria, CA
      No offer
      Negative experience
      Difficult interview

      Application

I applied online. I interviewed at Procore Technologies (Carpinteria, CA)

      Interview

I had a phone screening set up via email. I never received the first scheduled call so I sent an email to follow up. The person messed up. It happens and so we rescheduled the following week.During this phone screening, I couldn't help but to feel as if I was wasting the interviewer's time. She asked questions which I answered and she would then repeat the question verbatim right after I answered. I'm used to having interviewers ask more probing questions if my answer is too broad. If she wanted clarification it could have been nice for her to ask for that instead of having a rough tone with me. I could tell she was frustrated. The questions were pretty open ended, so I tried to respond by answering the question and also including product knowledge I had from my online research. It seemed she wanted to dig deeper into my product knowledge to the point where it was nearly impossible to answer without having ever used it before. It was a phone screening and I didn't even have a chance to screen them back, I think it was mostly the tone even though she was the one who missed the first screening. I didn't get an apology for that either. At the end of the call I even asked why she called for the screening. I felt like both of our 1/2 hours were wasted. I almost would have preferred the email rejection.

      Interview

Interview was good, good people. They decided to rescind my offer because I didn’t disclose my layoff during the process. I had to give up my other process and ended up with nothing. Do not trust an offer from this company. Layoffs are common and shouldn’t be held against a candidate.

      Easy interview

      Application

I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at Procore Technologies in Sep 2025

      Interview

Pretty easy - described on their careers page. I made it through all rounds and then they told me to wait while they finished interviewing other candidates. I gave them a week and reached out because I had another offer and I wanted to see if Procore was still interested in me. They stalled me for a few days and finally said they were going with another candidate. The recruiter said she’d be open to give me feedback and I requested so, but then ghosted me. Disappointing.
