Aug 10- received an email to schedule a phone interview
Aug 15- day of phone interview, but nobody called me...reached out to recruiting to see what was going on. They emailed me back to let me know my recruiter had fallen ill and was not in so we had to reschedule the phone interview.
Aug 21- had phone interview where she asked me some behavioral based questions. She was very friendly and nice to me. I enjoyed speaking with her. However, she didn't tell me whether I would be moving forward....so I was left in suspense.
Aug 24th- received request for background check
Aug 27th- Got an email to set up virtual face to face interview.
Aug 29th- had virtual face to face interview with a very cheerful and pleasant guy. He smiled the whole interview which made me feel so much more at ease. he asked about 4-5 STAR based questions and I had studied and researched the questions that would be asked before the interview so I was able to answer these smoothly. Once the interview was over, he told me that they would be calling or emailing me with a decision within the next week.
Aug 30- Got a call with an offer today! It didn't even take a whole week! I am so excited!

Question 1
Tell me about a time you had to deal with a difficult customer. how did you handle that situation?
I applied online. I interviewed at Progressive Insurance (Houston, TX) in Mar 2024
Interview
8 prerecorded behavioral questions, 2 attempts to record 3 min answers which must be delivered in STAR format. Wish I had a few days to prep, I would have done much better. I was invited to the next round of interviews, so I guess it was alright. There are some helpful YouTube videos about preparing in advance for behavioral style questions and the STAR format. I suggest taking time out to study those a few days before hand.
