I applied online. The process took 3 weeks. I interviewed at Proofpoint (Draper, UT) in May 2018
Interview
Obviously recruiter is great at what he does, very engaging and friendly. First phone interview was weird and confusing. Sales manager asks all the right questions, however if you don't respond in his language, or words, he will challenge your response. Even if you essentially say the same thing.
Advice would be to listen to his language and mirror accordingly.
Onsite interview was uncomfortable. Sales managers are great, however their leader, the Directer of Sales, seemed bothered he had to be there. Was on his phone and distracted half the time.
You will be asked the same questions, so be sure to pause and deliver as if it was your first time hearing the question. They like the sales presentation, if that makes sense. Put on a show for them.
I applied through an employee referral. I interviewed at Proofpoint (London, England) in Jan 2026
Interview
The interview process is clear and very supportive. You are kept up to date at all times and everyone supports you to do well. The process was conducted very well/
Il percorso prevede colloquio con HR recruiter, seguito da hiring manager e SE manager. I colloqui avvengono individualmente. Lo step finale è la panel interview a cui partecipa il management team della country

Question 1
Quali sono le tue motivazioni principali al cambiamento
lack of transparency from hr on where things stood throughout the interview process. Was being kept in the dark on next steps but being held onto as an insurance policy until they found the right person. The interview process was extended to two months of them stringing me along not giving me an answer on whether they wanted to move forward with me. I was always reaching out for an update and getting a vague response back on timing, next steps, and interest. They should have been more professional in shooting me down instead of bringing me a long for a vague rollercoaster ride of where I stood. After a few months of constant excuses like, hiring manager was sick, out of office, on vacation, Ill get back to you next week, i was on vacation etc. they finally told me they decided to move forward with someone else. I couldn't believe how unprofessional they were.
