I applied for a normal SRE position (that I would be qualified for). Recruiter reached out to ask me to interview for a Senior level SRE position (which I was definitely not qualified for). Had awkward video conference interview where the interviewer sat all the way at the back end of the conference room. The interview was technical, but the interviewer did not ask any questions to actually get a feel for whether I was a hard/smart worker or how well I could problem solve, work in a team, or anything like that. It was a bit underwhelming and stressful at the same time.
Proofpoint is annoying because regardless of their department (at least for operations positions), they list the exact same job post for every position based on skill level (Junior, Mid, Senior).
