I had extremely positive experience interviewing with team at Proofpoint and extremely unprofessional experience at offer negotiations. Everyone from Hiring Manager and other engineers in the team were very professional and courteous. Great interactions and engaging during whole process starting from take home assessment to technical screen and on-site. I even had great interviews with Senior VPs and VPs. With great feedback from Team and Hiring Manager, I was given a verbal offer and In written communication as well. And negotiations were ongoing with recruiter telling me that he is working on getting the approval on the final possible number that he proposed is possible over call and in email. Within few business days , of giving me impression that I have an offer in hand and approval Is just a formality, verbal offer was rescinded saying they are going with other candidate. I expected to receive a final offer (even if it was the initial offer) with a deadline to accept or reject. Extremely unprofessional and total lack of transparency. I am never giving interview at Proofpoint again.
