n the interview process, I was presented with a unique challenge: a system designed specifically for the purpose of evaluating my bug-finding abilities, with a particular focus on the user interface. My approach was methodical and thorough, leveraging both manual testing techniques and automated tools to ensure comprehensive coverage.
Starting with the UI, I meticulously examined each element for consistency, usability, and accessibility. I discovered a range of issues, from minor cosmetic flaws like misaligned text and inconsistent font sizes, which, while seemingly trivial, can significantly detract from the user's experience and the product's perceived professionalism. More critically, I identified several usability issues, such as buttons that didn't provide clear feedback when clicked and form fields that failed to validate input properly, potentially leading to user frustration or the submission of incorrect data.
