The planned interview process involved 5 rounds but ultimately ended up including a 6th conversation. At the beginning, the process moved really quickly; within two weeks of submitting my application I had completed a phone screen and interview with the hiring manager. Immediately after my interview with the hiring manager, my final three interviews were scheduled and completed in the next week and a half.
After that though, things slowly went downhill from a communication and timing perspective. Unprompted, they provided me a timeframe I should expect to hear an answer, a few days after that, I would reach out for an update and be told "we are hoping to have an answer by the end of the week." This went on for +3 weeks. Finally I got an email requesting a 6th interview, followed by another 2 weeks of no response until finally I received a generic "we decided to go with someone else." email.
Everyone that I spoke with were very nice individuals, but their timing, transparency, and expectation management really should be improved.
